TWO Wyre Forest Triathletes are passing on their knowledge and enthusiasm to the next generation.

Jacqui Phillips and Sam Anderson, both members of Triathlon Kidderminster and Stourport, have set up their own junior club.

Tri Energy Kids aims to introduce boys and girls aged between eight and 16 years old to duathlon, aquathlon and triathlon.

The club trains at Stourport Sport Club’s cycle track on Mondays between 5pm and 6pm.

“We want to introduce kids to the sports we love in a fun way,” said Phillips.

“Triathlon, duathlon and aquathlon are also great ways to be active but our first priority is making the kids enthusiastic.”

Both coaches have a host of experience in their events, taking gold in their age sections at the European Sprint Triathlon Championships in 2013.

Phillips also won her age group at the World Duathlon Champions in Spain earlier in the year.

She also produced a determined display at the World Triathlon Sprint Championships in Canada where, in a very strong field of riders, she missed out on medals by coming fourth.
