Stourport Swifts 3, Tipton Town 1

Stourport came from behind to take the three points needed to lift them into the Midland League top six.

And the game also saw young substitute Luke Morris net his first goal for the Walshes Meadow side when he rounded off the scoring five minutes from the end.

It could have been the perfect start for Swifts as they dominated the opening minutes but squandered a number of good chances.

Lewis Pountney headed over on four minutes after being picked out by an Ashley Parsons-Smith cross and the Tipton goal continued to live a charmed life five minutes later when Gary Walker had an effort saved, Paul Hurrell crashed the loose ball against the bar and James Lemon put the rebound wide.

Rod Brown’s side were then undone on 14 minutes when visiting defender Lucan Spittle netted against the run of play.

But Stourport bounced back in style with Pountney heading in a Jamie Hyde cross on the half-hour to level the scores.

Karl Fellows gave Swifts the lead three minutes before the break, firing past Town keeper Matt martin from 20 yards.

Tipton did have a chance to level midway through the second half, Simon Badiane firing wide following a corner, before Stourport regained the initiative.

Substitute Kevin Spencer went close with a header before Morris bagged his goal on 85 minutes, his shot being deflected beyond the Tipton keeper after a quick break upfield from Parsons-Smith.
