MARTIAL ARTS: A junior member of Tsunami Karate Club has stormed to four medals at the annual Children’s Championships at Portway Leisure Centre, Oldbury .

Harry Laight, 11, won gold in individual kata and fought well to come first in the mixed team kumite.

The youngster also won silver in the individual kumite and silver in the impact section.

This was a great performance from Harry who is showing promise for the future.

Also performing well but just missing out on the medals this time were seven-year-old Frank Southall and Thomas Hannon Homer and 16-year-old Iain Sinnett Anyone interested in joining Tsunami karate club should contact Sensei Dave Powell on 07725 230409.

The club are based at Mercure Kidderminster Hotel health Club on Habberley Road in Bewdley.

Men and women from five years old and upwards are welcome to attend.

Training takes place on Wednesdays and Fridays between 7.30pm and 9pm.

Tsunami are currently running a special offer, with a free taster session.

If a student then decides to take out a licence the next four lessons will also be free of charge.
