BOSS Phil Mullen has said he will sort out Bewdley’s defensive issues — but will not sacrifice his side’s attacking attacking verve.

After Saturday’s game against Cradley Town was postponed because of wet weather, Town are 16th in the West Midlands Premier.

However, despite their bottom half position in the table, they have scored an impressive 43 goals in 22 games.

But the Ribbesford Meadow outfit have let in the most goals, leaking 57 so far.

Mullen said: “We score a lot of goals and more pleasingly we share them around, so we’re not reliant on one or two people.

“We are playing a certain way and have the right kind of players to do that.

“We are letting too many in and we are working hard to stop that, but I won’t change things to affect the number of goals we are scoring.

“There are a number of highly intelligent players at the club so I am sure we will get there.”

Bewdley now face a tough test at leaders AFC Bridgnorth in the league on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Town go into the game in decent form having beaten Pegasus 3-2 last week and previously drawing with 3-3 with Willenhall and Wednesfield.

Mullen added: “We’ve had a habit of falling behind and then scoring and we can’t keep doing that.”

Chris Lojko and Dan Flowers are injury doubts ahead of Saturday’s clash in Shropshire.
