WYRE Forest Phoenix got the better of AFC Worcester 3-1 in the Midwest Counties Female Football League.

Goals for Emily Taylor, Melissa Knott and Natalie Westcott sealed a comfortable win.

In the West Midlands Regional Women’s League, Phoenix went down 3-0 at Solihull Moors.

Forest struggled from the start as they could only field ten players and held on for 25 minutes before the hosts took the lead. Solihull bagged two more goals in the second half.

The under-14s were edged out 4-3 in a thrilling game.

Brooke Harris, Fleur Connolly and Lucy McLatchy scored as Phoenix had made it 3-3 only for a final minute goal to seal defeat.

Wyre Forest’s under-12s lost 3-2 to Droitwich Spa Girls.

Molly Knight had scored in the first half as both teams were locked at 1-1 at the break.

But Phoenix suffered a setback when they were reduced to ten because of injury.

Despite their disadvantage, Eilidh Shakespeare fired them into the lead but Spa piled on the pressure and scored twice to win the game.
