STOURPORT Swifts will be without the central defensive pairing of Michael Briscoe and Jamie Willetts for Saturday’s trip to high-flying Quorn.

The central defensive duo are absent because of family commitments, with Gary Walker and Jamie Hyde set to deputise.

Briscoe is set for a lengthy spell out after being sent off for stamping an opposition player in Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with Alvechurch.

The former Kidderminster Harriers stopper will serve a three-match ban, which will start in a fortnight.

Former Gornal Athletic player James Baldwin made an immediate impact on his debut, winning the penalty which Ashley Parsons-Smith tucked away.

But Church, managed by former Swifts defender Lee Knight, upped their game in the second half and were back on level terms inside three minutes when Dimitri Dunkley slotted home.

The draw was on the back of a 0-0 stalemate against Kirby Muxloe on Saturday.

Meanwhile, chairman Chris Reynolds revealed that at least eight candidates had shown an interest in replacing Rod Brown as manager.

Brown left last week and has been named vice-chairman at Kidderminster Harriers, with Dave Connell in charge for the time being.

He said: “We’ve had quite a lot of interest in the job already but for the moment Dave is in charge and doing a good job.

“We’re mid-table and in no danger of getting relegated, so we’ve got time to work out what to do next.

“But there’s no rush, we have nine games left, and it’s good to see so much interest in managing the club.”
