BEWDLEY Town manager Phil Mullen believes it will take some doing for his improving squad to finish in the top half of the West Midlands Premier.

The Ribbesford Meadows side are currently 15th in the table but are in decent form and are looking to finish up the table.

He said: “I think it would be hard to finish 12th over above because there’s a bit of a gap between us and the other sides.

“But I am happy where we are.

“We had a tough start to the season but now we’ve got players attending training and a good mix in the squad.”

Town endured a free weekend after Saturday’s clash against Wellington Amateurs was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.

But Bewdley are keeping their fingers crossed that this weekend’s home game against Wolverhampton Sporting Community (3pm ko) will go ahead.

Town had been in decent form over the last months, recording wins over Pegasus, Bilston and Cradley before being edged out by Wellington and Bridgnorth.
