HOCKEY KIDDERMINSTER Hockey Club collected back-to-back wins in the West Midlands Premier League at the weekend when they hit 11 goals in the process.

They travelled to Sikh Union Coventry in their first match on Saturday and produced some scintillating hockey, leading 4-0 at the break.

They eventually ran out 6-1 winners with Andy Pocknell scoring a hat-trick and other goals coming from Ajay Singh Sandu, Neil Jackson and Mark McKinnon.

The following day they won 5-2 at Stratford in a re-arranged fixture but had to overcome a psychological blow when one of their players suffered a serious injury.

The game started in sickening fashion when Isaac Newman suffered a fractured skull from a lifted short corner after just two minutes.

After a break for the ambulance to take the player to hospital, Kidderminster responded with purpose and soon went into a commanding lead with good interplay between Pocknell and Matt Edwards which led to Pocknell converting a flick.

Kidderminster continued to dominate and ran out comfortable winners with further goals from Pocknell, Edwards, Jackson and McKinnon.

l Kidderminster Ladies shared a 2-2 draw with Droitwich.

Amy Grove put them ahead but Droitwich rallied to lead 2-1 after the break before Grove snatched a late second to grab a share of the spoils.

l Melissa Kennedy celebrated her 21st birthday with the winner for Stourport Ladies 1sts in their Midland B Division match at home to Leicester.

Kennedy clinch a 2-1 victory with the goal of the season when she pulled the ball away from the keeper and netted with a reverse flick in to the roof of the net.

Earlier Louise Wall had put them a goal up but it looked as though they would have to settle for a point when they allowed the visitors to gain a scrappy, deflected equaliser.

Amy Smith scored both goals as Stourport Ladies 2nds went down 6-2 to Tenbury 1st in Worcestershire Division One.

Stourport Ladies 3rds went down 4-3 to a late goal to visiting Harborne in Worcestershire Division Two. Kathy Doyle (2) and Rosie Connolly were their scorers.

Georgia Hingley scored the consolation goal for Stourport 4ths when they lost 4-1 to Bromsgrove 3rd.

DARTS Wribbenhall Social Club B's brilliant finishing power proved too strong for their opponents Great Western in the Banks's Bewdley Darts League.

Man-of-the match Darren Edwards was in top form early on with a 301 nine-darter, while Mick Pain hit a 124 to take the second leg.

Sue Edwards took the third against Mike Webb before Dave Pratt took a 74 bull outshot against Pete Cullen to keep the visitors in the match.

Star man Edwards was then called back into action in the doubles with Dave Hughes and broke on 140 before Western player Richard Watkiss replied on 120.

Hughes responded well with 85 but again it was Edwards who was bang on form, going out with 104 to clinch the match for the home side.
