Phoenix stunned by Polden double as Spa clinch the cup
WYRE Forest Phoenix Ladies suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Droitwich Spa in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Women’s County Cup final.
A double for April Polden in a short space of time midway through the game saw battling Phoenix's miss out on some silverware.
Despite creating a host of chances, Phoenix could not beat the keeper.
They are in knockout action again on Sunday, this time it is the League Cup semi- final at home against Lye (2pm ko).
Meanwhile, the under-13s lost 5-0 to Dudley Sports Girls.
Wyre Forest had been holding them at bay until just before half-time, when the Black Country side broke the deadlock.
