WOLVERLEY’S Eclipse Martial Arts School bagged a big haul of titles at the Kwon British Championships, which were held at North Solihull Sports Centre.

The club, which trains in Memorial Hall, took six fighters and all except one came away with a title belt and title to their name.

Callum Hawkins was the leading light for Eclipse, fighting in four categories and also stepped up to the next height category above him to come away with three belts. He only missed out on the fourth by a single point.

Jacob Carroll fought in two categories, missing out narrowly in his points fighting but absolutely storming the light continuous section to gain the Kwon British title.

His brother Cieran Carroll followed his brother’s early success in the day by losing out in his points but completely dominating the light continuous section.

Chloe Elrick fought a very experienced girl in her bout and had to pull out all the stops to record an impressive win.

The victory was on the back of winning her title in April.

Dawn White gained the British championship for ladies veterans, a title fully warranted by her amazing displays in what is a very tough sport.

Chloe Holloway was the only member who missed out on a title but she gained a very respectable bronze fighting some very experienced girls within her category.

Coach Gerry Wilson said: “The day was amazing for our little club.

"This tournament was huge with competitors from overseas in attendance.

“We are very proud of our achievements here as we are very much a minnow in our sporting field and we achieved so much more than many of our very large rivals.”
