RISING Sun were the surprise victors when they beat high-flying Rising Sun B in the Banks's Bewdley Darts League.

Shaun Portmen was first up for Bs against Wil Knight and both found it hard to settle in the opening leg taking a handful of darts at a checkout before Portman took the game.

Richard Mason lost the next leg to A's Rob Jones, going down on double 16. Arthur Granger and Archie Fernal put up a great battle with Granger on top taking the leg in 12, but it was the skill of Paul Welsh and Dave Bridgewater in the final doubles match that sunk the B team when Bridgewater hit a winning 92-out shot.

Social B captain Dave Edwards almost hit a 167-out shot when he took out T20, T19 and hit the 25 needing the bull. That miss cost Social dear as Red Lion's Alan Marshall sunk a D15 to win the match for the hosts.

Waggon B's Andy Brown missed a 301 six-darter game against Black Boys' Dave Vaughan but managed to wrap up the leg in seven darts taking the double on his next visit to the oche. Basement Boys Soc lost their 25th game on the trot, to Red Lion B.
