WINGER Ahmed Obeng has left Harriers to join Hednesford Town.

Obeng had been contracted to the club after Harriers exercised an option to keep him for another year over the summer.

But Hednesford have been pursuing the former Rushall Olympic winger throughout the summer.

After talks with the winger, manager Gary Whild agreed to cancel his contract by mutual consent.

Obeng made 20 appearances and scored just one goal.

Meanwhile, striker Reece Hales has penned a one-year deal at Aggborough and reports for training with the rest of the squad.

The youngster, who signed from Birmingham City last season, made six appearances for Harriers in 2014/15 and spent time out on loan.

Whild explained: "Ahmed's situation was a little different as we had been expecting to begin the season with him as part of the squad but, in fairness to him, the interest shown in him from Hednesford was quite sustained and, having discussed it with him and with everything considered, this is the best option for him as a young player.

"Reece is someone we've seen a considerable improvement in over the course of the last 12 months and we're pleased to see him back in with rest of the group today.

"He is another one with a big opportunity to make an impression this season."
