HALFWAY through the summer season and several Wyre Forest CRC riders are testing themselves over the longer distances to put them in contention for the best all-rounder award.

Dave Meacham chose the Ross-on-Wye and District CC 25 miles time trial and finished ninth from an entry of 77 riders in a time of 55 minutes and 19 seconds.

Andy Overton chose the popular www.Realteam.co.uk event where he took four minutes off his previous best performance with a time of 53.53 which gave him 38th place from a field of 240 riders.

In the club’s Midweek Time Trial Championship, Steve Vanes scored an easy victory after his main rival Jon Howard suffered a puncture shortly after the start resulting in his retirement.

Lucy Walters, now getting used to her new TT bike, produced another great ride beating the majority of her male opponents.
