KIDDERMINSTER Victoria continued their love affair with the Birmingham League’s win-lose format after despatching Dorridge by a crushing 155-run margin.

It means Kidderminster have won all six of their games at the shorter 50 overs this season and with five more still to come, skipper Matt Pardoe is extremely optimistic the Chester Road club can complete the season on a successful note.

Craig Wood returned to form with the bat by making 85, which provided the backbone for their competitive total of 258 for seven.

But it was Kidderminster’s bowling attack which ultimately destroyed Dorridge as they were dismissed for just 103. Strike bowler Connor Smith caused most of the damage taking 5-31 from a spectacular seven-over spell.

Pardoe said: “Connor was absolutely fantastic with the new ball. Once he’d ripped through Dorridge’s top order, that was it.

“Dorridge skipper David Ball was their danger man, but once he’d gone cheaply, there wasn’t much left past him.”

Richard Kimberlin joined in the carnage claiming 3-12 as he mopped up the tail.

It leaves Pardoe with a few selection posers ahead of their trip to defending champions West Bromwich Dartmouth on Saturday.

Seam bowler Gareth Williams is back available and is almost certain to open the attack with Smith at Sandwell Park.

The pair proved a prolific combination at the start of the season and a repeat of that will make Kidderminster a force to reckon with for the remainder of the campaign.

With a full squad to select from, Pardoe admitted: “Selection is going to be a bit of a headache this week, with people coming back, it means I’m going to make myself unpopular with someone.”
