THE fun and exciting competitions have well and truly started at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club.

The yellowball competition is a tactical competition with the added pressure of performing with the differently coloured ball.

The format is the best two stableford scores on each hole, the yellowball rotates around each player competing with it counting for double points.

However if lost it’s gone unless you buy back another with the monies going into the prize pot.

Paul Liggins, Adam Cook, Ash Cook and Matt Fairman certainly made the most of the day with everyone contributing nett pars for double points.

However a phone call on the 16th tee meant the yellowball had been lost and they needed the buy back.

Although the last three holes were average for the team they did their damage on the previous holes to finish with a huge 125 points.

l Churchill and Blakedown have done the double by clinching promotion for the second year running in the Midlands Scratch League.

A tremendous win 6-2 at Gaudet Luce Golf Club was enough to see them crowned Division Seven champions.

Next season they will compete in Division Six with local rivals Hagley G&CC and Wharton Park.
