DIRECTOR of Rugby Phil Knowles felt Kidderminster Carolians’ players can hold their heads up high despite losing to Moseley Oak 32-7 on Saturday.

The Marlpool Lane side were no match for the Midlands Division Two West (North) leaders.

But while the visitors from Birmingham ran riot, Knowles was pleased with grit his side display.

He said: “Moseley paid us a huge complement by playing their strongest team. They had three player coaches, all of them have featured for Moseley in the past.

“If they play this team every game then they will runaway with the league.

“We have to put our hands up and say we were beaten by the better side.

“But I thought our work rate and tackling was excellent.

“I was worried early on because Moseley Oak had started so well but we never gave up.”

KCs now face Warwickshire side Spartans at home in the National Cup on Saturday (2.15pm ko).

Meanwhile, the KCs’ Colts kept up their impressive run with a 36-17 win over Malvern.
