STOURPORT Hockey Club’s under-18s girls team were jumping for joy after booking their place in the National Indoor Finals.
The team showed grit and determination at Aldersley Leisure Villa in Wolverhampton to progress through the regional group.
The girls’ path to the finals, which take place at Whitgift school in London, later this month, was achieved with a 8-0 victory over Belper in their first match, followed by a 6-2 defeat by Beeston, with the local side bouncing back with a 9-0 victory over Lichfield.
The ladies only needed a draw in their final match against Telford to claim a place in the finals but took three points with a 5-1 victory.
Both the men's and ladies' sections of the club return to action after the Christmas break this coming weekend.
The ladies' first XI are taking part in the indoor competition' while the seconds, thirds, fourths and fifth’s are all at home.
The Worcestershire League re-commences on Saturday, January 16, when the sixths will play their first match after the break.
Stourport under-18s have qualified for the National Indoor Finals.
