KIDDERMINSTER and Stourport athletes claimed a clutch of medals at both the Worcestershire and Shropshire County track and field championships.

The trio of James Milburn, Lynette McKeown and Jack Lambert all collected a clean sweep of three gold medals.

Great Britain international Lynette McKeown continued her dominance of Worcestershire throwing events by winning the hammer, discus and shot for the fourth consecutive year running.

Multi event specialist James Milburn won gold in the hurdles, discus and triple jump while Jack Lambert triumphed in shot, discus and hammer where he set a new county record when clearing 54 metres.

Dave Morris and Millie Giough also struck gold in Shropshire.

They both won their respective hammer and shot put events, Millie's win in the shot proving particularly exciting when she clinched victory with the final throw of the competition.

Back in Worcestershire, Jess Surridge picked up two gold medals in the hammer and javelin while Chris Lane won both the long and high jump events.

Chris Telling and James Bendall both finished up with gold, silver and bronze medals, Chris demonstrating his versatility by winning the 3,000 metres and then collecting medals in the shot and hammer., while James took medals in the javelin, hammer and discus, setting new pb's in the latter two.

Further gold medals were obtained by Ellie Ravenscroft in the 400 metres hurdles, Georgie Knott in the shot and James Pudgsey in the 100 metres.

Katie Lambert continued the club's dominance in the throwing events by breaking the 23 year old Shropshire county record when winning the hammer event ahead of team mate Fran Milburn who took silver.
