THREE Wyre Forest youngsters competed against some of the best swimmers in the country when they took part in the Northampton Spring Festival Open Meet at Corby's International Swimming Pool.
The event was classed as a level one open meet which attracted swimmers from all over the country, many of whom were attempting to obtain national qualification times.
Abbie Rowley struck gold when the 15-year-old won the 50 metres butterfly and then claimed silver in the 50 metres freestyle.
John McMahon, who was competing in the 17 and over section, finished fifth overall in the 50 metres fly while Rosie Lane competed in the 50 and 100 metres freestyle.
