COOKLEY cricketers continued with their unbeaten tag at all three levels this season although the latest round of matches never survived the rain interruptions.

That was after all three sides batted first and looked set for positive results.

The First XI were put into bat by Belbroughton where Al Roden soon showed a welcome return to form by making 41.

It was skipper Paul Thomas who held the innings together with a superb 84 not out as Cookley posted a total of 219 for eight.

Cookley strike bowlers Danny Soley and Jack McVey waited impatiently in the prospect of exploiting the helpful conditons when the heavens opened and play was abandoned.

The Seconds looked set for a bumper score when inserted to bat by opponents Bromyard.

Mitch Taylor thumped 78 not out and found support from Matt McCann who made 34 not out when play was halted with the score at 191 for three with 12 overs still remaining.

Cookley Thirds set a new club record when reaching 298 for seven against Five Ways Old Edwardians.

It was the highest ever score by Cookley Thirds with club chairman Phil Dixon leading from the front with an 11 boundary quickfire 56.

He found splendid support from a patient Gaz Field who made 83 while super veteran John Martin supplied an entertaining 47.
