BEWDLEY Rowing Club have already been out in force this season.

Their women's masters C coxed four attended their first regatta of the season at Nottingham looking to continue where they left off last year.

They didn't disappoint, powering their way to victory against crews from Milton Keynes, York City, Stourport, Cantabrigian and Marlow.

Bewdley led from the first stroke and were never headed winning in a time of 4.02.4 with Marlow breathing right down their necks in a time of 4.03.1.

Bewdley also competed at Shrewsbury where the novice women's double of Maddie Whiting and Penny Gunn narrowly missed out on victory.

But Bewdley managed to record a couple of wins from a mixed double composite while there was further success from the Masters D coxless 4 of Mike Parker, John Hinton, Nick Hinton and Rob Heath.
