STEVE Vanes proved in top form when winning the latest round of Wyre Forest CRC's time trial championships.

Vanes and runner-up Jon Howard proved the only riders to post a sub 26 minute time over a tough 11 mile course around Great Witley which coincided with a stiff head breeze over the last few miles.

Vanes clocked 25mins 35secs ahead of Howard in 25.57 while Halesowen's Tom Swingler was third fastest with 26.39.

Wyre Forest's Paul Bailey clocked 27.35 to take fourth spot ahead of unattached rider Jamie Hart with 29.30.

Jon Howard then followed up by finishing tenth in the VTTA National 10 miles Championship with a time of 21mins 10secs.

Wyre Forest rider Vicki Boddice continued her good form at the midweek circuit races at Stourport Sports Club when taking third place in a sprint finish.

She now moves to within four points of her third category licence.

Felix Forrester finished seventh in the Under 10s boys race at the Mid Shropshire Wheelers circuit races while Louis Smith fought hard to snap up second spot in the Under 12 category.

Posie Forrester picked up fourth place in the Under 12 girls race while Kinga Ingram and Aimee Lane were second and third respectively in the Under 14 girls contest.

Classy Sam Cooper went one better by winning the Under 14 boys race while Oliver Bill continued his improvement with 10th place in a highly competitive Under 16 event.

Dean Sibthorne was judged to have finished second following a bunch sprint for the line in the Men's fourth category race.
