ARCHERY: Archers from across the Midlands converged on Upper Arley for Wyre Forest Company of Archers annual Western tournament.

Competitors had to shoot four dozen arrows at each distance of 60 and 50 yards for seniors and 30 and 20 yards for juniors.

There was a win for Amy Hadley in the under-12s category recurve with Charlotte Smallman in 2nd place.

For the seniors Mellissa Smallman took silver in a hotly-contested Ladies recurve, Angela Burbridge won the barebow and Daniel Finn clinched a second class award in the Gents recurve.

WFCA finished second in the team competition with Richard Maw, Dave Brazier, Mellissa Smallman and Daniel Finn scoring 3,140, just 64 points behind winners Evesham Archery Club.
