COOKLEY fell to a crushing 10 wicket defeat against Worcester County League leaders Worcester Nomads.

After being inserted to bat, home side Cookley were promptly shot out for 73.

Only Jaimen Rudd with 16 and Jack Taylor (13) managed to reach double figures after Richard Henry had destroyed the early order by taking 4-9.

Nomads then knocked off the runs without loss in the space of 19 overs, Innocent Kaia making 50 not out.

Cookley therefore failed to pick up a single point and slip to sixth spot in the table.

The Secondssuffered a hefty 139 run defeat by league leaders Feckenham.

Put into bat first, Feckenham racked up 259-4.

Cookley then collapsed to 120 all outJohn Martin top scoring with 26.

Cookley Thirds put rivals Netherton into bat first on a difficult wicket.

But Netherton adapted well and reached 213-8.

Ro Perera’s golden duck then sparked a collapse as Cookley were bowled out for 112 in reply, Jasper Smith’s 24 being the best score.

Despite the defeat, Cookley stay second in Worcester County League Division Seven North.

A weekend whitewash was thankfully prevented by the Under-9s who managed a fine victory over Ombersley before narrowly losing out to Kidderminster.
