MICHAEL Hill bagged an impressive century to ensure Kidderminster escape with a losing draw against Kenilworht Wardens on Saturday.

An under strength side lost ground in the Birmingham League Premier after settling for a losing draw against Kenilworth on Saturday.

The Chester Road side slipped one place to fourth after a second draw in succession.

Liam Weston bowled well for Kidderminster, eventually taking 4-58 from 11 overs, while Richard Kimberlin took 2-67, with Mike Hill and Gomez Vincent taking one each.

But Martin Donald (87) and Nathan Edwards (45) plus Blake Maher and Nick Seager, who both scoring 43 runs, guided the side from Warwickshire to 279-8.

KCC lost their first six wickets for 32 runs and the collapse started when Brinder Phagura dismissed skipper Matt Pardoe (1) and Craig Wood (0) in his first two overs but Junean Zaman also took three more in his second over.

The scoreboard read 16-5 after seven overs with James Kinder (0), and then Richard Kimberlin and Weston suffered the same fate.

Lewis Stainforth (4) gave Phagura his third wicket, but Ryan Field had scored 10 off 37 balls before Zaman had him caught by Nathan Edwards.

But Hill and Tom Kimberlin stopped the rot with a vital seventh wicket stand of 116 as somehow Kidderminster earned a share of the points and reached 21-7 in55 overs.

Hill faced 150 balls, while Kimberlin playing a brilliant supporting role faced 100 balls for his 30 runs with five fours to his name.

On Saturday Knowle & Dorridge are the visitors to Chester Road as the league reverts to the win/lose type 50 overs game (noon start).
