MANDY Sylvester netted a hat-trick of trophies at the annual Bewdley Tennis Club championships as she clinched the singles, women’s doubles and mixed titles.

She beat Alison Rosoman in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4 before teaming up with her opponent to defeat Tine and Nancy Sylvester in the doubles in what proved the match of the day.

The reigning doubles champions lost the first set on a tie-break but fought back to run out 6-7, 6-0, 6-4 winners.

Mandy then joined forces with Jim Sylvester to land the mixed doubles crown for a record 15th beating Oli Tombs and Lucy Odell 6-2, 6-4.

Meanwhile head coach Geoff Barrie ensured there was a new name on the honours board by bagging his first singles crown, seeing off the challenge of left-hander Frank Carroll 6-1,6-3.

Meanwhile there was a first for the club when Richard Litchfield and Terry Round beat Geoff Elliott and Martin Lester in the inaugural Men’s Senior Doubles after two tough sets.

Dave Meek also celebrated a double – seeing off Mike Rosoman in the Veteran Men’s Singles and then unitingwith Ros Youngs to inflict another defeat on Mike and Alison Rosoman in the Veteran Mixed.

Finally Martin Lester and Karen Vernon triumphed in the Handicapped Mixed Doubles defeating Oli Tombs and Tine Sylvester 6-4, 6-3.
