Harriers 3, Gainsborough Trinity 0

ELTON Ngwatala scored one and set up two others as Harriers returned to winning ways with a comfortable success over Gainsborough Trinity.

Kidderminster played in patches but made their superiority in front of goal count when they did get on top.

Arthur Gnahora and Ngwatala netted at the start and end of the first half respectively before Tyrell Waite put the game out of sight in the second period.

Harriers did start the clash in a lively fashion as they looked to banish their recent cup and league defeats.

Waite saw an effort blocked on three minutes and Ngwatala couldn't turn the rebound home as the hosts began to quickly get on top.

The opener came just five minutes later when Gnahoura rifled the ball into the far past past keeper George Willis after cutting onto his right foot.

However, Harriers failed to kick on after going ahead and the game was scrappy for long period of the half as Gainsborough grew into it.

They caused problems for the home side with deep balls into the box despite Sam Hornby in the Harriers goal remaining largely untroubled.

The visitors mustered a couple of efforts from Nathan Jarman but couldn't get a real foothold for long.

Eventually Harriers did get on top once more as the half entered its final minutes.

Sam Austin, in at right back for the suspended Tyrone Williams, saw a curling effort saved on 44 minutes after he'd cut onto his left foot from the right flank.

Kidderminster didn't have to wait long for their second and bagged it just before half time from the resulting corner.

Andre Brown flicked on the set piece and it found Ngwatala at the far post. His initial effort was saved by Willis but the attacker reacted quickly to turn in the rebound and give the hosts a two goal cushion.

Harriers could have bagged a third within a minute of the restart but Brown couldn't beat the outrushing Willis after being played through.

But, just like he first half, the second period saw the Reds happy to sit on their lead without being troubled by Trinity.

The third goal eventually arrived on 64 minutes as Wait fired home from the edge of the box with his left foot.

That put the game to bed and Harriers were happy to keep possession and see the clash out.

You feel they had other gears to go through if they'd have been required but importantly the win gets John Eustace's men back on track after the cup defeat at Blackpool and last Saturday's loss at Halifax.

It also sets them up for Tuesday night's local clash with Gloucester City at Aggborough.
