IT was another successful week for Wyre Forest CC, which enjoyed no less than four wins in open events around the country.

The club had a good day at the Bristol South CC 10 mile event by winning the team prize.

Dave Barnes led the team home with a time of 21 minutes 42 seconds to finish second overall.

Paul Carson also performed well and recorded a time of 22-47, while Karl Davies was not far behind with 25-23. The overall winner was Rob Pears, from Bath CC, in 20-49. Barnes maintained his recent good form at a windy Plan B 10 mile time trial in Etwall near Derby.

Despite struggling with an injured leg he won the event in a time of 20-54.

Carson and Phil Blacker took part in the circuit races at Mallory Park, with both in the thick of the action for the entire race.

Carson eventually went clear with one other rider, who he held off in the sprint to seal his first road race victory of the season.

Blacker escaped the bunch in the closing stages to finish in third place and round off a great team performance.

Wyre Forest's up-and-coming star Pete Banham proved his class when won the Summer Cyclo-Cross held near Derby.

Despite torrential rain four from Wyre Forest rode the Cheltenham C&CC 25 mile event in Winchcombe at the weekend.
