KIDDERMINSTER and District Table Tennis league will stage its annual end of season finals event on Tuesday May 2.

The event will be at Kidderminster Harriers’ Social and Supporters Club at Aggborough on when six events will be decided.

The open singles and open doubles will be decided, while the two Markos - Pavlovic and Radisa - will compete for the handicap singles title.

Harriers C’s Trevor Davies will take part in two finals: he will take on team mate Alex Westwood in the Super Vets and also do battle with Steve Horton in the hard bat final.

Marko Pavlovic will also take on James Perks in the final of the restricted singles which is limited to players from Division Two. Both come from the Roundhead club.

In the league, Bromley A have been crowned Division One champions, with Wordsley B taking the Division Two title.

Although Steve Horton and Jason Thompson remained undefeated for Bromley A all season, it will be a Bromley B player, Jamie Cartwright, who will pick up the award on finals night for most wins with 55 from his 63 games.

In Division Two, Harvington A’s Eric Calver enjoyed a great season with 65 wins from 72 games but was edged out for most wins by Dave Whittingslow, of Wordsley B, who won 67 of his 69 games.

In a league which is generally short of young talent teenagers Hawley Ellicott and Kyle Day performed well for Droitwich Hackers and Harriers C respectively, with each losing only twice all season in Division One.

Meanwhile, in Division Two young player Declan Gardiner from Bromley C looks to be a promising performer.
