KIDDERMINSTER captain Neil Pinner has called for the club's support to turn out in force for their clash with rivals Ombersley this Saturday.

KCC, who are sitting at the foot of the Birmingham and District Premier Division, will go in search of their first win of the season when they welcome their third-placed rivals to Chester Road (noon start).

Pinner says his side are a confidence-boosting win from getting the campaign back on track and thinks a sun-drenched home fixture in front of their own fans could be the key to success.

He said: "It's a big bank holiday weekend of cricket and it's always great to get people at the games.

"Hopefully we can get some really good support again on Saturday and also pick up our first win at the same time.

"Ombersley are a good side with a good mix of both experience and youth, so it won't be easy for us.

"They are a strong side but everyone has been working really hard and I think we're ready to get that first win now.

"Once we do that I think we may be able to go on and win two or three on the bounce."

Kidderminster have been dealt a blow with the news that wicketkeeper Tom Kimberlin could be out for more than a month with a broken finger. Rob Cross will continue behind the stumps this Saturday.

Pinner's option have been boosted ahead of the Ombersley clash with the return of Pat Brown and Bromsgrove School youngsters George Hatfield and James Kinder.

KCC's clash at Brockhampton last Saturday fell victim to the wet weather.

Openers Craig Wood and Charlie Stainforth had 12 runs on the board when Stainforth was caught by wicket keeper Ian Bullock bowled Jamie McIllroy for a duck in the third over.

Connor Smith came in at number three and had only scored one run when the game was abandoned.

However, Kidderminster got the luck of the toss to reach the third round of the League Twenty20 competition. They won the toss after their game against Ombersley wasn't played and will now take on Barnards Green at home on Sunday, June 11 at 2pm.
