ZAIN Ul-Hassan impressed with ball and bat as Worcestershire under 17s completed a seven-wicket win over Devon in the Royal London Cup Group 4A at Stourport. 

Ul-Hassan took the new ball as Devon elected to bat and finished with 3-31 from 10 overs.

He then scored 33 not out in an unbroken stand of 63 in 12 overs with Xavier Clarke as Worcestershire won with 9.2 overs to spare.

It was their second successive win after a nine-wicket triumph over Somerset under 17s.

Ul-Hassan's victims included B Phillips who top-scored with 51 in a total of 178-7 in 50 overs.

Mahaaz Ahmed took 2-40, Clarke conceded only 30 runs in 10 overs and George Marshall finished with 1-22.

In reply County skipper Jack Haynes (39 off 56 balls) and Jujhar Johal (49 off 63 balls) enjoyed an opening stand of 88 in 19 overs.

Ul-Hassan and Clarke (30no) joined forces at 119-3 and saw the County over the finishing line in 40.4 overs.
