KCC 251 ALL OUT (52.3 OVERS) DORRIDGE 230-8 (57 OVERS) WINNING DRAW FOR KCC (14pts) DORRIDGE (9PTS)

A very close match with some good performances from KCC players.

Winning the toss on a very dry wicket, KCC had a steady start despite losing Matt Pardoe (7) out caught off a ball that appeared to hit the ground.

Andy Kimberlin and Neil Pinner took the score up to 106 before Kimberlin (51) was run out. He had struck eight 4s.

Wickets fell at 112 and 130 with George Hatfield (0) and Craig Wood (17) out.

James Kinder joined Pinner and the score went up to 201 by the 44th over. Kinder (28) with four 4s was out lbw leaving Pinner on 95.

Connor Smith was out first ball but Richard Kimberlin had struck five 4s in his score of 25 before being out caught and bowled.

The overs were running out with the score on 246-7. Only five more runs were added.George Scrimshaw (1) and Tom Kimberlin(2) were out leaving Liam Weston(1) and skipper Neil Pinner (114) the not out batsmen.

Pinner’s century featured sixteen 4s.

Dorridge lost their first four wickets having scored only 49 runs.They took the total up to 130 but lost opening batsman Andrew Umeed (68) with eleven 4s and a six.

Good support from David Ball (72) and Shatzad Ali (42)took Dorridge within sight of victory, but Kiddeminster’s bowlers and fielders kept them at bay.

Richard Kimberlin had good figures of 11-3-3-34 and County bowler Scrimshaw, still recovering from a stress fracture, had figures of 5-4-2-13. Thanks must go to Ian Smith who fielded as sub for Andy Kimberlin.

KCC are at home next Saturday for their Annual Vice Presidents Day with Walsall the visitors.
