WORCESTERSHIRE seconds take a break from Championship cricket when they face Zimbabwe Academy in a 50-over match at Barnt Green tomorrow (11am).

Coach Kevin Sharp’s side have played fine red-ball cricket to top the Second XI Championship table with three wins this season.

They will field a strong side against the tourists with Ben Twohig captain again after leading the T20 side.

The pace attack will combine the experienced Jack Shantry and Charlie Morris with the raw talent of George Scrimshaw, Pat Brown and Dillon Pennington.

Batsman Jack Haynes will have another chance after his Championship debut in the win over Leicestershire last week.

Alex Hepburn looks to continue the fine form he has shown with bat and ball.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Milton will be confident after hitting a fifth league hundred of the season for Cardiff.

Josh Dell is fit to play after recovering from irritating a disc problem in his lower back.

Meanwhile, Worcestershire academy will hope for better luck with the weather against Leicestershire in a 50-over clash as part of the 2017 Tri-Series at Royal Grammar School Worcester tomorrow.

The series also features Northamptonshire.

The second of two 50-over games with Ireland under 19s at Bromsgrove was abandoned on Tuesday after only seven overs with the academy on 38-0.

They lost the first match by five runs despite 4-9 from seven overs by England under 19s paceman Adam Finch.

Ireland recovered from 51-5 to 225-6 in a match reduced to 46 overs per side.

The academy finished just short with opener Haynes scoring 69 off 106 balls and Dell adding 40.
