WYRE Forest Company of Archers successfully promoted the CWAA county championships at Upper Arley with the club's members among the medals.

Top scorer for the club and winner of the silver medal and veteran's trophy in the gents compound category was Bill Bell with a score of 1,310 which included 69 golds.

Close behind in the bronze medal position came Scott Potter with a score of 1,302 and 57 golds.

In the ladies compound Anne Rutland scored 1,326 points and 56 golds to win the silver medal with Lindsey Brazier taking the bronze medal with a score of 1,275 including 48 golds.

There was a gold medal win for Angela Burbridge in the ladies bare bow with a score of 456 while Melissa Preece took bronze in the ladies recurve with a score of 1,106 including 15 golds.

At the Redhill Archers American tournament there were wins for Lindsey Brazier in the ladies compound, Angela Burbridge in the ladies bare bow and Penny Neaverson in the ladies long bow.

Freya Palmer was the top scoring junior lady in the senior competition while Lauren Turner and Heike Palmer won their respective junior categories, Amy Hadley was second in her category.
