A KIDDERMINSTER racer is switching to championship winning Team Pyro for this year’s Renault Clio Cup.
Daniel Rowbottom had a successful season in 2017, finishing fifth in the drivers’ championship following five podium appearances and a number of high-scoring finishes.
The 29-year-old is now looking to challenge for the 2018 title after teaming up with last season’s championship winning team – under the banner of Cataclean Racing.
Rowbottom said: “Last year I was in a small family-run team and we ended up not a million miles off taking second in the standings.
“Mike Bushell was the runaway winner for Pyro – well now he’s moved on to touring cars for 2018 and I believe I can replace him as Pyro’s top driver.”
The 2018 season gets underway on the weekend of April 7 and 8 at Brands Hatch before racing continues three weeks later at Donington Park.
Races at Thruxton, Oulton Park, Croft, Snetterton and Rockingham will then take place throughout the summer.
The season culminates with the penultimate race at Silverstone on September 15 and 16, before the final event on September 29 and 30 at Brands Hatch.
