KIDDERMINSTER Cricket Club has been selected as part of a ground-breaking movement to boost opportunities for women’s and girls cricket across Worcestershire.

As one of the county’s leading clubs, KCC will pioneer a Women’s and Girls Hub, which is being launched this spring with the ECB’s national All Stars programme for five to eight-year-olds.

Following last year’s successful All Stars mixed programme, Kidderminster will run two eight-week programmes – one for girls and one for boys – alongside each other at the Chester Road ground, starting Friday May 11.

Junior section chairman Sarah Beadsworth said: “The girls' All Stars group will be the pioneers of a sustainable female section, building year upon year to provide quality cricket for girls and women.”

The two 45-minute All Stars programmes will have their own qualified coaches and the sessions will run as part of the junior section training night.

To register for the All Stars Boys’ programme visit allstarscricket.co.uk/kidderminster and for the girls’ programme go to ecb.clubspark.uk/AllStars and search for KidderminsterGirlsCC.

Junior summer training for under-9s to under-16s starts on Friday, April 13, from 6pm until 8pm. New members welcome and for more details call Mrs Beadsworth on 07841 502535 or visit Kidderminster.play-cricket.com.
