CAPTAIN Joe Leach admitted to a sense of "panic" after Worcestershire Rapids had been taken to a last-ball decider at Yorkshire.

The Rapids returned from Headingley with four-run Royal London One-Day Cup victory to top the North Group going into today's home clash with Durham Jets.

Worcestershire had looked likely to complete a more comfortable victory having racked up 350 runs with Leach taken by surprise.

"I didn't expect it to be that close after we'd bowled 40 overs," said the skipper.

"It was a pretty good game of cricket and my heart-rate took a while to settle down after what was a bit of a panic but we closed out the game.

"There are a lot of things we need to improve on and a lot of things we did very well. Ultimately, to come away with two points is very pleasing.

"I've said it a few times, our batting line-up is a scary proposition. Watching Ben Cox and Ross Whiteley go about their work in the last 10 overs was scary.

"I thought the way Travis Head played, and Joe Clarke, set it up nicely. Ross and Ben ran with it in the last 10 overs and got us a very good score.

"The scary thing is I think we're capable of even more. I see Notts got 400 and I certainly think we have a team that can do that.

"It was a good experience for our young seamers. They've not played a lot of List A cricket. We've seen a little bit of naivety at times but that's nice to say on the back of a win."
