CAPTAIN Neil Pinner hailed Kidderminster's impressive bowling attack after they went top by beating previous leaders Tamworth at Chester Road.

KCC secured a six-wicket win to leapfrog last Saturday's opponents at the head of Birmingham and District League Division One.

Connor Smith secured a five-wicket haul for the loss of 48 runs from his 16 overs to keep the visitors on the back foot after opener Sam Kinson was run out by Richard Kimberlin.

Barney Morgan bagged three wickets of his own and Ben Twohig another as they were supported well by Chris Steele.

Tamworth were eventually dismissed for just 102.

Despite Richard Kimberlin falling early, Andrew Kimberlin (44) and Twohig (33) set up the home success.

Pinner (20 not out) and Smith (5 not out) guided KCC to a vital victory.

The captain was keen to highlight his bowling attack after the win, saying: "It was another really good bowling performance from us once again.

"We knew we had a decent chance when we won the toss and got to have a bowl at them. Everyone did really well.

"We got the ball to swing nicely and they were never able to put a partnership together.

"They were missing a key batsman in Liam Banks but on our day we are capable of doing that to sides.

"Our bowling attack has been a massive part of how well we've done this season. We've kept the run-rate down and really cause teams problems."

Kidderminster will look to continued their fine form when they make the long journey to second-from-bottom Brockhampton this Saturday.

Pinner added: "We're not half way through the season yet so need to keep our feet on the ground. We can't sit back now."

KCC are likely to be without Liam Weston this weekend as he continues to recover from a side strain.
