How they rated:

Harriers 0, Telford United 0

Hall: Much like his counterpart Max Bromley, Brandon didn't have a great deal to do as both sides battled hard to keep clear cut chances to a minimum. Claimed well on occasion. 6.

Vaughan: A fine all-energy display and a showing that optimised Harriers' new pressing game and high tempo approach. Provided some good balls from the right in the first half and was a contestant threat. 7.5.

Austin: Another good showing on the left flank, especially with his willingness to run at the opposition in the first half. This system brings the best out of both wing-backs. 7.

O'Connor: Solid performance from the experienced campaigner. Led the back line well and kept Telford at arms length. 6.

Horsfall: Much like O'Connor, he defended well and was willing to carry the ball out from the back at times too. 6.

Johnson: Did okay on his competitive home debut in a back three with Horsfall and O'Connor. Did give the ball away on a couple of occasions but always recovered. 6.

Weeks: Neat and tidy game and was key to the way Harriers switch play quickly in the first half. Didn't see as much of the ball in the second half. 6.

Daniels: Like his midfield partner Weeks he also didn't see too much of the ball as it was moved quickly into the final third. Showed some neat footwork at time in tight areas and plenty more to come. 6.

Ironside: Strong hold up play at times, won good headers and worked well in a pairing with Ash Chambers. Openings dried up slightly in the second half but still he worked hard. 6.5.

Chambers: Some really clever running in the first half as well as selfless pressing his up the field to good effect. Looks a really handful and showed good signs of a blossoming partnership with Ironside. Faded slightly in second period. 6.5.

Bradley: Freeing Bradley in this system will be key to Harriers' success. Given licence to drift into attacking areas but struggled to have an impact against a well-drilled Telford side. 6.

Subs:

Williams: Replaced Daniels and was keen to get on the ball late on. 6.

Baxendale: Quickly got into the game and nearly won it with a late drive that was cleared off the line. 6.5.

Richards: Provided a different option late in the game with his pace and direct running. Could have a big part to play when games become stretched this season. 6.5.

Unused subs: Taylor, Digie.
