WORCESTERSHIRE Academy turn their attention back to the Tri-Series with Northamptonshire and Leicestershire this week.

The under 17s won their final ECB County Championship encounter of the summer with Devon at Sandford.

Now they do battle with Leicestershire in a three-day match at Bromsgrove from today.

Nine of the side who overcame Devon, including captain and second half century-maker Zain Ul-Hassan, are in the squad.

Academy coach Elliot Wilson has included trialist batsman Alex Eckland, a pupil at Millfield School who has played for Devon and Somerset.

Also selected is left-arm spinner Lewis Evans who was in the Midlands squad for last year's ESCA Bunburys Festival.

Ul-Hassan scored 100 from 146 balls with one six and 13 fours in the five-wicket win at Devon as the visitors turned around a first-innings deficit of 125 in bowling out Devon for 115.

It left the County a 241 target and Ul-Hassan led with support from Xavier Clarke (58) and Riecko Parker-Cole (35 not out).

Earlier, Ed Bragg took 3-20, Parker-Cole 3-35 and Matt Davis 2-19.

Victory lifted them to fourth in the five-team table ahead of Hampshire.
