NATHAN Nathan Freke was frustrated by more bad luck at the Dutch Supercar Challenge at Silverstone over the weekend.

The Kidderminster driving ace had been invited by Glynnsport to race a TVR Sagaris on the famous British track's grand prix circuit, after a difficult summer where he has not had a team to drive for.

But with a chance to put the metal to the pedal he was hindered by bad luck.

The 2006 Formula Ford Champion had cut short a holiday in Ibiza to compete in the event and because of this he was only back just in time to take part in qualifying, where he sealed 13th place on the starting grid.

"I was getting faster and faster but ran out of laps, and I was looking forward to racing again." said Nathan.

Freke made an excellent start and powered his way to sixth, but while he was fighting for fifth place he was forced to pull out because of low oil pressure.

Despite the set back Freke had set the sixth fastest time.

On Saturday Freke was set to take over from team leader Steve Glynn, but he was unable to race in the Sagaris after a crash had damaged the front end beyond repair.

Freke was reprieved when he was offered a drive in a car by Fred Tonge and despite setting the eigth fastest lap he finished in a lowly position.

Now the driver is searching for a team to race in 2008, but the deciding factor will be finding financial backing.

Nathan currently has no more racing this year although his management are negotiating with a number of teams for seats in 2007 and 2008.

"I have proved once again that I can drive any race car as quickly as anybody and faster than most, even when unfamiliar with the vehicle." said Freke.

"I just need the right seat to continue my career after a disappointing 2007."
