KIDDERMINSTER ended their title winning campaign with defeat at Bromsgrove last Saturday.

KCC won the toss and decided to field. A good opening stand between Bromsgrove's Ash Newfield and Jayden Levitt produced 90 runs in 22 overs. It ended when Levitt (55) was out caught and bowled by Chris Steele.

Thirty one more runs came before the second wicket fell. Newfield (45) was out leg before to skipper Neil Pinner having struck five fours.

A third wicket fell with only eight runs added. Jack Taylor had faced 15 balls scoring just two runs when he was caught by Charlie Stainforth bowled by Gomez Vincent.

Changing bowlers had had little success but when the score had reached 185-4, Ryan Pedley (54) was bowled by Liam Weston.

KCC stemmed the flow of runs and conceded just 45 more. Tom Green (15) was out caught Steele bowled Weston, Henry Dwyer (28) was run out by Connor Smith and Alex Wilkinson (12) was dismissed by the Steele/Weston combination ast thenhome side ended on 230-7 from their 50 overs.

Kidderminster lost two early wickets with only 23 runs in the book. Andy Kimberlin (6) was out lbw to Gareth Williams, who also took a second wicket when Green caught Richard Kimberlin for 14.

Things improved with 107 runs added by Connor Smith and Neil Pinner. Smith (32) was eventually trapped leg before by Newfield.

Pinner looked in good form, and 25 runs had been added when he was caught by Dwyer bowled Newfield for 91.

At 157, James Kinder became Newfield’s third victim, having scored two, he was caught by Wilkinson. Shameer Ahmed (14) was next to give Wilkinson a fourth scalp with George Marshall taking the catch.

With 10 overs remaining and 50 runs needed it was beginning to look a bit bleak. Four wickets fell and all hope disappeared. Charlie Stainforth (28) looked the last real hope, but with Tom Kimberlin (7), Liam Weston (1), and Chris Steele and Gomez Vincent failing to score it was all over for a very successful season.
