A BRACE from Phil Lashford ensured Stourport men's first team battled from behind to defeat Barford Tigers 4-3 at home on Sunday.

Victory also saw Stourport bounce back from a 2-0 loss at the hands of Birmingham University in the National North Division the previous day.

After a mixed weekend of results for Stourport the team remain in fifth place, four points off leaders University of Birmingham.

On Saturday Stourport were shot down by two second half goals from James Carter and Nick Latham.

But the team bounced back to clinch their second win in the league on Sunday by seeing off bottom side Barford.

The Tigers opened the scoring but Rob Allen grabbed a leveller, before David Devey edged Stourport ahead.

Goals for Jesmeet Singh Notay and Jeroen Silva left the hosts trailing, but two goals in the 68th minute by Lashford ensured a hard fought victory.

Stourport take on struggling Kingston-Upon-Hull at home on Sunday.

The men's fourth team edged out Cannock's sixth team 2-0, with Carl Woodwiss and Allan Moss on target.

Unbeaten Stourport women's first team were too strong for Boots in the Midlands Division B and ran out 2-0 winners on Saturday.

Stourport piled on the pressure and Jodi Vincent opened the scoring after good work by Sarah Cavendish and Holly Lashford.

Vincent turned provider on the hour mark when her pass allowed Liz Cooke to slot the ball beyond Boots' keeper.

The third team went down to Droitwich's second team in the Worcestershire League, despite Jen Peniket's consolation goal.

Stourport's third team hammered Worcester 9-2 in the County League, with Teri Baron leading the way with a four-goal haul, while Jess Trundle (2), Natalie Marshall and Kate Bailey also hitting the back of the net.

The women's first team take on Hinckley, while the seconds play Harborne, third tackle Kidderminster and fourths play Redditch on Saturday.

Kidderminster Table-topping Kidderminster men's first team made it two wins in a row in the West Midlands Premier Division by defeating Wolverhampton 3-2 on Saturday.
