STOURPORT rider Scott Roberts put his bike and body on the line to become the 4x National Series champion.
The 16-year-old won the seven race series out right to become national champion in the youth section.
To clinch the title the Baxter College student had to battle it out with his competitors over a series of short downhill courses equipped with testing banked turns, jumps and table tops.
Roberts has been competing in the sport since he was 13-years-old.
This was the second time he had competed in the series, finishing in sixth place at the first attempt.
Roberts is a member of mountain bike developer and manufacturers Flow Bikes' team and he is already focusing his efforts on defending his title and winning a place in the World Cup events in 2008.
