Sophia steals the show in Redditch

ATHLETCS: Sophia De Beer was the star of the show for Kidderminster and Stourbridge AC at the latest round of Heart of England Championships.

Juniors from the club did their best at the Abbey Stadium in Redditch in the second round of the championships.

De Beer won the 800 metres in the under-13s age section, while Sarah Stuart-Smith was runner-up in the 800m in the under-15s category.

Kidderminster and Stourport Heart of England Championships results – U11 boys: Archie Roberts, 6th 600m 2-11-5, 7th long jump 2.29m, 7th 75m 13.5.

U13 boys: Alex Surridge, 4th 800m 2-46-1 A, 2nd 75m hurdles 15.8s A, 5th discus 11.27m A; Olly Reah, 2nd 75m hurdles 17.2 B, 5th 200m 35-7 B, long jump B; James Terry, 6th 100m 15.8s A, 6th 200m 35.4s B, long jump A; Joe Wilson, 5th 100m 17.1s B, 4th shot put 5.76m A, 3rd discuss 10.19m B; 4 x 100m, relay 5th.
