STOURPORT 1sts had to bat out for a draw after losing their way against league leaders Belbroughton in Division 3 of the Crusader League.
Stourport won the toss and asked their hosts to bat and they posted 188-9 in their allocated 50 overs with Bevan Neill and Andy Platt taking three wickets each and Craig Siwicki claiming a brace.
Due to weather interruptions the Stourport innings was reduced to 40 overs and good knocks from Craig Siwicki (54) and Allan Moss (27) had the visitors going along nicely.
However, after losing wickets, the safest action was to bat out for the losing draw and the innings closed on 131-7.
Belbroughton took 14 points to stay top while Stourport ‘s seven points keep them in fifth spot.
On Saturday the town side are at home to Enville.
Stourport’s second team asked Eastnor to bat at Walshes Meadow and whipped them out in the 49th over for just 125 Jame Harris was again amongst the wickets taking 3-17 and there were also two wickets each for Mark Guest and Kev Haycock in an impressive bowling and fielding performance where Dan Cope made his second team debut behind the stumps.
In reply Stourport cantered to victory without loss within 25 overs. Ian Delo was there with 74 not out and Brian Colley on 35 not out as the hosts took 20 points.
In Division 9 the thirds were well beaten at West Malvern.
They were all out for 101 in 29 overs with Andy Goddard top scoring with 29.
West Malvern reached their target in the 23rd over to win by five wickets.
