FURNACE MILL FISHWERY Furnace and Mucky Meadow Pools were used for the Sunday Open. In first place was Paul Cook (Mark’s Tackle) with 178-14 from peg 11 and runner-up was Duncan Newton (Redditch) on peg 8 with 128-7.

Kev Williams (Wolverhampton) did the best on Mucky Pool with 116-2 from peg 32. He was followed by Dave Williams ( Halesowen RBL) with 99-10 from peg 35. In fifth place was Stuart Harvey (Wassell Grove) with 75-13 from peg 47.

The Friday evening matches are proving to be popular. In first place was Paul Cook (Mark’s Tackle) with 81-7 from peg 19. In second place was Dave Williams (Halesowen RBL) with 68-2 from peg 4 and in third was Mark Pincher with 59-1.

On Friday the draw is at 4pm and fishing will be 5pm until dark. The best tactic this week has been fishing the margins with the pole or short pole with the bait just touching the bottom, feeding pellet and fishing hook pellet, corn or meat over the top. WRENS NEXT AC Result of charity contest between The Wrens Nest and Matroc Ac on the Wrens’ pools.

Twenty people fished – 12 for Matroc and eight for Wrens Nest. The total weights were 135-14 for Matroc and 129-7 for Wrens Nest.

A total of £115.00 was raised for the County Air Ambulance.
