A STOURPORT mountain bike rider will be representing Great Britain this weekend at the World Championships in Canada.
Scott Roberts, 17, is part of a three-man team tackling the best the world has to offer over two rounds of the series.
He was selected for the tournament on the back of his excellent form over the last year, which saw him win the junior section of the Four Cross National series in 2007.
Roberts, who works in Halfords, will be competing against senior riders in two rounds this weekend and on August 2 and 3.
“This is one of the biggest competitions I have ever competed in and I am very excited to go over there,” said Roberts.
“I have met some of the guys competing in it already and done better than them so I am hopeful of doing well.”
Roberts has been taking part in the sport since he was 13 year old and is a member of mountain bike developer and manufacturers Flow Bikes’ team.
