KIDDERMINSTER’S Jacqui Phillips turned in a superb performance at the National Age Group Triathlon Championships in Wakefield to win a place in the Great Britain team.
Her creditable fifth place in the 40-44 age group won her a call-up to the national team and she will represent GB in the European Championships in Holland next year.
Phillips, who runs for Kidderminster and Stourport AC, celebrated her selection by finishing as third female in the Upton-on-Severn sprint triathlon.
Phillips, who also competes for Halesowen- based Cobra Tri Club, completed the 750m river swim, 25k cycle and 5k run in 1hr 12mins to come 16th overall and also first female veteran.
