OLYMPIC medal hopeful Lucy Wainright booked her place in the semi-finals of the K1 500m canoe competition in China.
The 31-year-old from Kidderminster ensured she progressed into the semi-finals by finishing third in her qualifying heat.
The reigning European champion set a time of one minute and 50.103 seconds to progress, while heat winner Josefa Idem's success ensured she booked her place in the final on Saturday.
The semi-finals are scheduled for 9.20 on Thursday morning.
